Tuaari has been a professional drummer/musician/singer, since he was twelve years old, playing drums in a 6 piece Jazz band, three nights per week, and booked out twelve months in advance. When he was invited to join the band, it brought the average age of the band down to sixty-one. (The second youngest member of the band was four times my age, and most of them were in their late sixties and one was seventy-two.)
Music started at a young age for Tuaari - singing lessons from five to sixteen and playing percussion from the age four. His music career spans forty-eight years having played in bands in almost every genre and style of music, and sung in choirs, (including the West Australian Opera Company, singing; "La Traviata"), choral groups, barber-shop quartets, duos, and trios, and lucky enough to play and sing in a number of countries in Europe and in London.
Now, he teaches music in schools, multiple private students, and in a number of bands, ranging many different genres.
Tuuari will be singing in Maori language.
