The Schools concerts will be divided into two separate concerts this year.

Friday 6.00-8.00 – Denmark Civic Centre – Denmark Senior High School music students will perform at the Act-Belong-Commit Youth Festival Opening Concert along with Festival guests Candy Royalle, Mathas and The Baden Street Singers. Tickets are $10 on line, from the office and if not sold out at the door.

Also on the map for kids is the story-telling tent with Saturday and Sunday morning programs specially for youngsters, a roving pirate adventure and creative story workshops.

Primary Schools Concert: A Celebration of the Youngest Voices

Spirit of Play

As part of their music program the children of Spirit of Play have been exploring the many ways we can use our voices. They will share with you a multi-lingual, vocally percussive, dynamic and melodic experience!

Golden Hill Steiner School

Golden Hill Steiner School perform a range of songs from Xavier Rudd, Sting and consciousness revolutionary Dub FX. Featuring violins, recorders and ukuleles, their performance will be lively and diverse. There are even rumours of some hip hop rapping

Denmark Primary School

The Denmark Primary School choir is drawn from interested children year’s 4-6. The choir loves to offer songs that bring laughter, tears and get the audience bopping along with their dance moves!

Other young voices appearing in the cafe programs are:

The Hip Hobbits

Formally known as ‘The Class Three Emcees’, The Hip Hobbits wowed crowds at last year’s Festival of Voice with their wonderful wordplay, wise lyrics and funky rhythms.

They have since gone on to further impress audiences at the Denmark Arts Markets, and have been making a name for themselves around town for their Flash Mob raps. They rap about all of their adventures in Class 4 at Golden Hill Steiner School. Joined by Treebeard MC, they will blow you away with their rhymes, rhythms and all-round awesomeness!!
